Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Urges IAS Officers to Drive Inclusive Development and Good Governance

At the Commissioners and Collectors Conference, CM emphasizes trust-building, innovation, and mission-mode implementation to ensure welfare benefits reach the neediest under Vision 2047 plan

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday called upon Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to work with humility, dedication, and innovation to ensure the holistic and inclusive development of the state. Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day Commissioners and Collectors Conference held on October 7-8 at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal, the CM emphasized that the ultimate goal of good governance is to reach the benefits of development and welfare to the most needy citizens.

“Instilling trust among citizens is the prime goal of good governance. The trust of the people is our valued asset and it must be sustained under all circumstances,” Dr. Yadav said. He urged public servants to collaborate with elected representatives and work in mission mode to ensure optimum benefits from government schemes reach the grassroots.

Simplifying Governance and Enhancing Accountability

Highlighting the importance of a responsible and accountable governance system, the CM stressed the need for officers to utilize their talent, diligence, and dedication to accelerate the state’s progress. He shared that the conference would focus on making the administrative system simpler, more transparent, efficient, and decentralized for quicker delivery of services.

Dr. Yadav also urged officers to communicate sincerely with the public, media, and representatives, and encouraged innovation in their approach. “Officers should work humbly, continuously learn, and apply their experience effectively for maximum public good,” he added.

Role of Officers in Democracy and Development

The Chief Minister underscored the pivotal role that officers play in democracy and public welfare, emphasizing that effective field-level implementation is key to translating policies into tangible benefits for citizens. “Through good governance, we can achieve great results,” he remarked.

Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, Dr. Yadav urged officers to adopt the PM’s mantra of ‘Perform, Reform, and Transform’ in their work. “Together, we will build a Developed and Self-Reliant Madhya Pradesh as part of a Developed India,” he asserted.

Focus on Agriculture, Education, and Public Welfare

The CM highlighted the state’s remarkable achievements in agriculture, noting Madhya Pradesh’s leadership in pulses, spices, and tomato production and its strong ranking in wheat, maize, chili, and milk production. He set an ambitious target to increase the state’s share in national milk production from 9% to 20%, aspiring to make Madhya Pradesh the Dairy Capital of India.

Regarding education, Dr. Yadav referred to the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing the need to provide quality, skill-oriented, and value-based education to every child. He stressed the importance of improving enrolment rates alongside achieving 100% literacy and encouraged officers to conduct regular field visits and surprise inspections of schools, hostels, anganwadis, ration shops, hospitals, and ongoing projects.

Enhancing Public Engagement and Combating Misinformation

The CM urged officials to streamline public hearing mechanisms and maintain active communication with citizens. He also highlighted the need to promptly address misinformation on media and social platforms, emphasizing the effective use of social media to raise awareness about government welfare initiatives.

Preparation for Simhastha 2028

Dr. Yadav described the upcoming Simhastha 2028 as a major opportunity to showcase Madhya Pradesh’s rich spiritual, cultural, and religious heritage to the world. He instructed officers to prioritize the restoration and beautification of heritage sites and ensure timely completion of key projects such as Ram Van Gaman Path and Krishna Pathay, which are expected to boost the local economy and generate employment.

Vision 2047 and Conference Objectives

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the two-day conference would significantly benefit the people of Madhya Pradesh. He called for officers’ commitment and teamwork to achieve the government’s ambitious targets under ‘Vision – 2047’.

“Together, we will make Madhya Pradesh a leading state in governance, development, and public welfare,” Dr. Mohan Yadav stated.
