28 Villages to Gain Improved Connectivity as Madhya Pradesh Government Revises Elevated Plan Ahead of Simhastha 2028
Indian Masterminds Stories

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the ambitious Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Road Project will now be constructed at ground level instead of being elevated, keeping farmers’ interests at the forefront. The decision comes after detailed discussions with farmer representatives from various villages in Indore and Ujjain districts.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring fair compensation to farmers whose land will be affected by the project.

₹2,935 Crore Infrastructure Boost for Regional Development

The project, valued at ₹2,935.15 crore, will be executed through the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation. It aims to strengthen regional connectivity and transform infrastructure across 28 villages in two districts.

According to CM Dr. Yadav, the four-lane highway will provide improved public amenities and give a new developmental push to rural and semi-urban areas along the corridor.

Key Infrastructure Highlights

  • Construction of a ground-level four-lane greenfield highway
  • Major junctions planned at:
    • Western Ring Road crossing (Indore)
    • Ujjain–Badnawar Road crossing
  • Modern facilities at every toll plaza to ensure smooth and safe transportation
  • Faster and safer connectivity between Indore and Ujjain

The upgraded route is expected to significantly reduce accidents that have occurred in the past due to the narrowing of the old Indore–Ujjain road. The corridor also serves as a key route for travel to Janapav and surrounding areas.

Farmers’ Suggestions Incorporated in Project Plan

CM Dr. Yadav stated that the project design was revised after consultations with farmers. Accepting their recommendations, the government decided against constructing an elevated corridor and instead opted for a ground-level road to minimize inconvenience.

Farmer representatives who met the Chief Minister at his Bhopal residence expressed gratitude for prioritizing agricultural and local interests in such a major infrastructure project.

Major Push Ahead of Simhastha 2028

The Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Road Project is being fast-tracked in view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, which draws millions of devotees to Ujjain. The improved corridor will facilitate smoother movement of pilgrims and boost economic activity in the region.

The agreement for the project was executed on February 20, and further administrative procedures are currently underway to accelerate construction.

Strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s Road Infrastructure

Reiterating the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and infrastructure development, CM Dr. Yadav said that farmer prosperity remains the foundation of Madhya Pradesh’s progress.

The Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Road is expected to benefit a large population, enhance road safety, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen the state’s overall transport network.

With a balance between development and farmer welfare, the project marks a significant step toward modernizing Madhya Pradesh’s road infrastructure while safeguarding rural interests.
