Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed officials to design new job-oriented courses that can help youth secure employment immediately after training. He made these remarks during a review meeting of the Technical Education, Skill Development, and Employment Department held at Samatva Bhavan.
Focus on Employment-Focused Skill Training
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed the need for practical and employment-driven courses under skill development programmes. He said new courses should be designed in a way that directly connects trained youth with job opportunities.
He also instructed officials to expand the reach of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) to benefit more youth across the state.

Madhya Pradesh Ranks High in ITI Performance
The meeting highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has secured the 5th position nationally in ITI grading issued by the Government of India. Out of the state’s institutions, 47 government ITIs received a “9+ out of 10” grading score, reflecting strong performance in training quality and infrastructure.
Officials also informed that the state has 290 government and 644 private ITIs operating currently.
Record Enrollment Under Skill Development Schemes
Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest enrollment in the country under PMKVY, with around 11,400 trainees registered.
Additionally:
- Over 2.68 lakh applicants benefited under the Yuva Sangam programme (2025–26)
- Around 1.32 lakh youth were linked to self-employment opportunities
The government has significantly expanded training capacity by increasing ITI seats to over 52,000 in government institutions and more than 61,000 in private institutes.
Push for Dairy, Agriculture and Rural Employment
CM Yadav also directed officials to connect youth with dairy development initiatives in coordination with the National Dairy Development Board to boost milk production and rural employment.
He further emphasized integrating youth into agriculture-related activities during the Agriculture Year 2026 to create more livelihood opportunities.
Expansion of Skill Parks and Industry Collaboration
The Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park in Bhopal has set a target to train over 3,000 youth this year, including 1,500 long-term and 1,500 short-term trainees.
Training partnerships have been established with major industrial groups such as Reliance, Trident, and Jindal Group to enhance industry exposure for students.
Strengthening “Learn and Earn” Model
Under the Mukhyamantri Seekho-Kamao Yojana, the government aims to double the current training reach of around 20,000 youth. The Chief Minister called for stronger implementation to ensure wider participation and better outcomes.
India’s Skill Capital Vision
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is actively contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India the “Skill Capital of the World.” He emphasized that skill development is essential to harness India’s large youth population and convert it into a productive workforce.
Key Infrastructure and Training Improvements
Officials also highlighted several improvements in the state’s skill ecosystem, including:
- Expansion of ITI seats by 3,484 in government institutions
- Strengthening of 20 hub and 81 spoke ITIs under the PM-SETU scheme
- Improved performance in India Skills Competition 2025–26
The Madhya Pradesh government reaffirmed its commitment to creating a strong, job-oriented skill development ecosystem. With improved ITI rankings, rising enrollments, and industry partnerships, the state aims to become a leading hub for youth employment and vocational training in India.
