Mangalore: A. Mohammed Ali Shihab, a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Nagaland cadre, has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).
Shihab took charge of the position on Thursday. MRPL, a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise and a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), has welcomed his appointment.

Mohammed Ali Shihab brings extensive administrative experience and exposure to public governance to his new role at MRPL.
During his career, he has served in several key leadership positions across the Government of Nagaland, including:
- State Secretariat
- District Administration
- Various flagship development sectors
- Policy implementation and governance initiatives
His career has been marked by experience in administration, governance reforms and development programmes.

Key Responsibilities as Chief Vigilance Officer
As CVO, Mohammed Ali Shihab will oversee MRPL’s vigilance framework and play an important role in strengthening transparency and accountability within the organisation.
