New Delhi: MSTC Limited has appointed Ms. Santosh (DIN: 09519383) as a Government Nominee Director on its Board of Directors, effective August 7, 2026.
She replaces Ms. Sudershan Mendiratta, who ceased to be a Director of the company with effect from August 6, 2026. Ms. Santosh’s appointment will continue until further orders.
The appointment was approved by the MSTC Board through a resolution by circulation on August 10, 2026, following an order issued by the Board Level Appointment (BLA) Cell of the Ministry of Steel.
Ms. Santosh Appointed Government Nominee Director
Ms. Santosh is currently serving as Statistical Adviser in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
She is an officer of the 1999 batch of the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) and holds a postgraduate degree, including an M.Sc. in Statistics.
With more than 25 years of experience in public administration, she brings extensive experience in government administration and the coal and steel sectors to her new role at MSTC.
Ms. Santosh’s Previous Government and Board Experience
Before her current role, Ms. Santosh served as Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Coal and has also held positions in NITI Aayog, according to the company’s disclosure.
She has prior experience as a board member of several major public-sector coal companies.
Her previous board positions include:
- Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)
- Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL)
- Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL)
Her experience across government institutions and public-sector enterprises is expected to add to her understanding of the sector and public-sector governance.
Ms. Sudershan Mendiratta Ceases to Be MSTC Director
Ms. Santosh’s appointment fills the vacancy created following the exit of Ms. Sudershan Mendiratta from the MSTC Board.
Ms. Mendiratta, who was formerly an Ex-Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, ceased to be a Director with effect from August 6, 2026.
Ms. Santosh took over the Government Nominee Director position effective the following day.
MSTC Confirms Regulatory and Eligibility Details
MSTC said Ms. Santosh is not related to any of the company’s existing Directors or Key Managerial Personnel (KMPs).
The company has also confirmed that she is not debarred from holding the office of Director by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other regulatory authority.
Her appointment follows the required government-level process and the subsequent approval by MSTC’s Board.
