Bulandshahr: In a significant public health initiative, Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS) of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth ₹4.23 crore with the District TB Officer, Bulandshahr. The collaboration aims to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts across the entire district under NAPS’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Major CSR Push Toward a TB-Free Bulandshahr
The MoU, which focuses on district-wide TB care, marks one of the largest CSR contributions in the region’s healthcare sector. With TB still posing a major public health challenge in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, the initiative is expected to significantly improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes for affected communities.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries including:
- Mr. S.K. Kaware, Station Director, NAPS
- Ms. Shruti, District Magistrate, Bulandshahr
- Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Bulandshahr
- Senior district officials and representatives from NPCIL
Support to Include Medicines, Nutrition Kits & Advanced Diagnostics
Under the agreement, NAPS will provide a comprehensive support package for TB patients, which includes:
- Medicines for timely and uninterrupted treatment
- Nutrition kits to improve patient recovery and immunity
- Advanced microscopes and diagnostic tools to strengthen early detection and accurate diagnosis
These interventions are designed to support the government’s TB elimination mission and ensure that even the most vulnerable sections of society gain access to reliable healthcare resources.
NPCIL Reinforces Commitment to Community Health
NPCIL has been actively contributing to public health initiatives across its operational regions. Through this MoU, the organisation reiterates its commitment to improving community well-being and supporting national health missions. The TB elimination programme in Bulandshahr is expected to benefit thousands of patients and strengthen long-term health outcomes in the district.
