New Delhi: The National Career Service (NCS) Portal has mobilised more than 10.05 crore vacancies and registered over 6.64 crore jobseekers since its inception, according to the Ministry of Labour and Employment. As of July 15, 2026, the portal has 2.89 crore active jobseekers and 17.68 lakh active vacancies, reflecting its expanding role in connecting employers with jobseekers across the country.
The National Career Service, which transformed the National Employment Service into a digital employment platform, serves as a one-stop solution for career-related services, including government and private sector jobs, career counselling, vocational guidance, skill development information and online as well as offline job fairs.
AI-Powered Features Enhance User Experience
The Ministry said the NCS portal is continuously upgraded to meet evolving employment needs using the latest technologies.
The upgraded portal now includes:
- AI-powered job matching and personalised job recommendations.
- AI-based skill gap analysis and interview coaching.
- Multilingual support through Bhashini.
- Cloud-based applications for jobseekers and employers.
- Robust verification mechanisms and a dedicated mobile application.
According to the Ministry, the portal has also been upgraded to a cloud-based, open-architecture platform to improve accessibility and user experience.
Portal Integrated with Government Platforms and Private Employers
To expand employment opportunities, the Ministry has signed more than 40 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with public and private organisations.
Some of the private partners include:
- APNA
- Swiggy
- Rapido
- Zomato
- Amazon
- TCS iON
- Quikr
- FoundIt (formerly Monster)
These partnerships support services such as job fairs, career counselling and skill development programmes through the NCS portal.
The portal is also integrated with several government platforms, including Udyam, eShram, Skill India Digital Hub, EPFO, ESIC, DigiLocker and recruitment agencies such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) and Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
407 Model Career Centres Approved
As part of the National Career Service project, the government has approved 407 Model Career Centres (MCCs), including 370 Employment Exchanges that have been upgraded into MCCs.
These centres organise job fairs, mobilise employers, provide online and offline career counselling and collaborate with State governments and other institutions to strengthen employment services at the local level.
The Ministry further said that 31 States and Union Territories have been integrated with the NCS portal, with eight States and Union Territories directly using the platform.
Government Reviewing Employment Initiatives
The Ministry said all schemes and programmes are systematically reviewed before the commencement of each Finance Commission cycle to ensure they remain relevant, effective and aligned with evolving employment priorities.
