NBCC Flags Off Lifesaving Ambulance for Hanley, Ladakh Under CSR Initiative

NBCC Strengthens Healthcare Access in Ladakh: Ambulance Flagged Off for Hanley Under CSR Initiative
Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: Reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, NBCC (India) Limited flagged off a lifesaving ambulance dedicated to Hanley in Ladakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The ambulance was flagged off from the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi, marking an important step toward strengthening healthcare support in one of the country’s most remote regions.

The flag-off ceremony was led by Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NBCC, in the presence of  Anjeev Kumar Jain, Director (Finance) and Smt. Ritu Pande, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO).

Strengthening Healthcare in Remote High-Altitude Region

The CSR initiative aims to improve access to critical healthcare services in Hanley, a remote and high-altitude region in Ladakh where medical facilities are limited and reaching emergency care can be difficult due to challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions.

With the deployment of the new ambulance, the local population will benefit from faster emergency response and improved access to medical services, which is often a significant challenge in remote Himalayan regions.

The initiative is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring timely medical assistance for residents, particularly during emergencies that require immediate transportation to healthcare facilities.

Flag-Off Ceremony in New Delhi

The ambulance was formally flagged off from the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar in New Delhi, symbolizing NBCC’s continued dedication to social development initiatives.

Senior leadership from the organization participated in the ceremony, highlighting the importance of CSR-driven projects that address real community needs.

NBCC’s Commitment to Social Responsibility

Speaking on the occasion, the leadership of NBCC emphasized the organization’s commitment to creating a meaningful and lasting social impact through its CSR initiatives.

They highlighted that initiatives like providing emergency medical services in remote regions reflect NBCC’s broader mission of supporting communities beyond infrastructure development.

By supporting healthcare accessibility in remote areas such as Hanley, NBCC aims to improve the quality of life for residents and ensure that essential medical services reach those who need them the most.

Improving Emergency Response in Ladakh

The introduction of the ambulance is expected to significantly strengthen emergency healthcare response in Hanley and surrounding areas. In regions where distance, altitude, and limited infrastructure often delay medical assistance, such initiatives can make a life-saving difference.

The project also reflects the growing role of public sector organizations in supporting healthcare and welfare initiatives in underserved regions across India.
