Patna, Bihar: In a significant move, NCC Ltd has secured a major contract worth Rs 6,828.94 crore from Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, for the extraction and transportation of coal and overburden from one of CCL’s open-cast mining projects in Jharkhand. The order, announced on October 24, 2025, will see NCC play a critical role in the extraction and transportation process at the Amrapali Open-Cast Project (OCP) in the Chandragupt area.

Key Details of the Project

Under the terms of the agreement, NCC Ltd will be tasked with the removal of 413.59 million cubic meters (M CuM) of overburden (OB) and the extraction of 233.325 metric tonnes (MT) of coal from the Amrapali OCP. The extracted coal will then be transported to the Shivpur siding and surface stockyard, where it will undergo further processing, including wagon loading of 139.995 MT of coal.

To execute this large-scale operation, NCC will deploy Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), which will be essential for overburden removal and coal extraction. This massive operation is expected to significantly boost the productivity of the Amrapali OCP, an important project for CCL.
