In a recent development, Senior IAS officer Alka Tiwari, who has been serving as Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), has been repatriated to her parent cadre in Jharkhand. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued the order on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved her repatriation on personal grounds, marking the end of her central deputation. Tiwari, a 1988-batch officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has played a key role in addressing issues concerning Scheduled Tribes during her tenure at NCST.
