Mr Barua is currently serving as Deputy General Manager at the Siliguri Marketing Terminal of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).

Selected After Rigorous Interview Process

The selection was made following a thorough interview process conducted by PESB, where four candidates from prominent PSUs were considered

  • Mr Malay Mandal, Additional General Manager, MSTC Limited
  • Mr Bhaskar Barua, Deputy General Manager, NRL (Selected)
  • Mr Keshari Nandan, General Manager, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)
  • Mr Dipak Tryambak Patil, Deputy General Manager, Ratnagiri Gas & Power Pvt. Ltd.

Following deliberations, the Board found Mr Barua to be the most suitable candidate for the leadership position at NERAMAC.

NERAMAC’s Strategic Role in the Northeast

NERAMAC plays a pivotal role in facilitating agricultural marketing and promoting value-added products for farmers in India’s North East Region. The organization is instrumental in connecting local producers with broader markets and in supporting agri-based development in the region.

The appointment comes at a crucial time as NERAMAC aims to scale up value chain integration and market access for agri-entrepreneurs and farmers.

Currently, Mr Kayio Kayina Th is serving as the Managing Director of NERAMAC. A formal appointment of Mr Barua will follow post-clearances and approvals from the relevant authorities.

About NERAMAC

Accordingly, it is an Implementing Agency of the MoAFW 10,000 FPO Formation and Promotion scheme and has developed 220 FPOs.
