Patna: Bihar has welcomed nine newly trained IPS officers to its police force. The officers, from the 2023 and 2024 batches of the Bihar cadre, will serve as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) across key districts, reinforcing law and order in the state.
Training and Preparation
The officers have completed first-phase training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad, followed by 29 weeks of practical district training at the Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, which concluded on 23 November 2025. The rigorous program has equipped them with essential skills in policing, crime management, and administrative duties.
District Postings Announced
The state home department has allocated the new IPS officers to districts as follows –
- Sushma Sagar — Patna
- Aniket Kumar Dwivedi — Samastipur
- Dipti Monali — Gaya
- Hemant Singh — East Champaran
- Karthikeyan AK — West Champaran
- Ketan Ashok Ingole — Darbhanga
- Prasanna Kumar — Muzaffarpur
- Saim Raza — Bhagalpur
A formal notification confirming their postings was issued on Monday, and the officers are expected to assume charge shortly.
Boost to District Policing
With the induction of these officers, Bihar’s district-level policing is set to see a boost in law enforcement, crime prevention, and administrative efficiency. The appointments also reflect the government’s focus on strengthening leadership at the grassroots level in the state police.
