Key Decisions Taken in Cabinet Meeting

According to JD(U) senior leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, three major proposals were passed during the Cabinet session:

  1. Recommendation for Assembly Dissolution: The Cabinet recommended dissolving the 17th Bihar Assembly effective November 19, 2025, and submitted the proposal to the Governor.
  2. Acknowledgment of Officers and Staff: The Cabinet appreciated the efforts of state officials and employees for their cooperation and contribution in implementing government policies successfully throughout the term.
  3. Recognition of NDA’s Electoral Success: The Cabinet congratulated Nitish Kumar and the NDA for their overwhelming victory in the recent elections and expressed gratitude for the mandate given by the people.

Resignation Submitted at Raj Bhavan

After the Cabinet meeting, Nitish Kumar, accompanied by senior leaders including Vijay Chaudhary and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, met the Governor for approximately half an hour. Following the meeting, he submitted his resignation and exited Raj Bhavan. Until the new government is formed, Nitish Kumar will continue to hold office as the caretaker Chief Minister of Bihar.

Next Steps Toward Government Formation

Reports suggest that after submitting his resignation, Nitish Kumar may hold a crucial meeting with party leaders. Following this, the BJP legislative party meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, potentially followed by the NDA legislative party meeting. Subsequently, Nitish Kumar is expected to stake claim to form the government at Raj Bhavan in the evening.
