Begusarai: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a detailed review of development and welfare schemes in Begusarai during his Samriddhi Yatra. The meeting, held at the BIADA premises, focused on the implementation of schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra, as well as the Saat Nischay-2 and Saat Nischay-3 programs.
CM Reviews Implementation of Key Development Schemes
During the review, CM Kumar asked officials to accelerate the implementation of schemes approved under the Pragati Yatra. District Magistrate Kant Shastri presented detailed information on the status of various ongoing projects under Pragati Yatra, Saat Nischay-2, and Saat Nischay-3 initiatives. The presentation also covered other developmental works being executed across Begusarai district.
CM Kumar emphasized that all schemes should be implemented efficiently and with sensitivity, ensuring that the benefits reach every eligible citizen.

Saat Nischay-3 Program: Making Life Easier for Citizens
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Saat Nischay-3 program, launched shortly after the formation of the new government on 20 November 2025, aims to position Bihar among India’s most developed states.
The seventh nischay, “Sabka Samman – Ease of Living,” focuses on reducing day-to-day hardships for citizens and making life easier while ensuring respect and dignity for all.
Five-Year Plan to Provide Jobs for One Crore Youth
CM Kumar announced that the Bihar government plans to provide employment to one crore youth over the next five years. To achieve this, the state is promoting industries and supporting self-employment initiatives. Special economic packages have been introduced to attract entrepreneurs to set up industries across Bihar, generating employment opportunities for local youth.

Begusarai Airport and Industrial Development
During the event, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary announced plans to establish an airport in Begusarai, similar to developments in Birpur and Valmikinagar. He highlighted that industries, including plastic chair manufacturing, are gaining momentum in the district, providing employment and reducing out-migration.
CM Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary also visited Sheikhpura, emphasizing Bihar’s industrial revival since the foundation laid by former CM Sri Krishna Singh. Investments of over ₹40,000 crore in the fertilizer sector have boosted industrial activity in Begusarai.
Infrastructure Development and Connectivity
Deputy CM Chaudhary highlighted significant improvements in infrastructure:
- Travel time from Patna to Begusarai reduced from 4–5 hours to 1.5–2 hours
- Expansion of road and rail networks, including the Haldia-Raxaul expressway, improving connectivity to Kolkata
- Development of Simaria Ghat and plans for improved waterways from Patna to Haldia
Social and Economic Progress
Significant improvements in basic amenities were noted:
- Road network expanded from 6,000 km to 1,40,000 km
- State budget increased from ₹6,000 crore to ₹3.5 lakh crore
- Electricity consumers grew from 17 lakh to 2.16 crore, with 22–24 hours of supply
- Up to 125 units of electricity provided free to approximately 88% of consumers
Women’s Empowerment and Education
Deputy CM Chaudhary highlighted that the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme has provided employment opportunities to nearly 2 crore women. Efforts are also underway to open degree colleges in all blocks, enhancing access to higher education for youth.
Focus on Employment and Local Industries
The Bihar government is actively promoting local industries and entrepreneurship to create employment opportunities and curb migration. Over the past five years, more than 50 lakh people have gained employment through various initiatives.

Both CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary reiterated the government’s commitment to balanced industrial growth, infrastructure development, social justice, and rural employment. The officials highlighted that continued efforts under the Samriddhi Yatra and Saat Nischay programs will ensure Bihar continues on the path of sustainable development and prosperity.
