New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has successfully commissioned the first phase of its 300 MW solar power project at Barsingsar in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Advancing Renewable Energy Goals
In a filing to the stock exchanges, NLCIL announced that 52.83 MW capacity has been declared commercially operational. The declaration follows the commissioning certificate issued by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) on 26 August 2025.
The project forms part of NLC India’s broader renewable energy expansion strategy, which aims to achieve over 6 GW of renewable capacity in the coming years. By harnessing the solar potential of Rajasthan, the company is contributing directly to India’s national target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
Strengthening Presence in Rajasthan
Located in Barsingsar, a region with high solar irradiation, the 300 MW solar project is set to enhance power availability in Rajasthan and beyond. With the first phase commissioned, the balance capacity will be progressively added in subsequent phases.
The project is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions, support clean energy transition, and strengthen NLC India’s role as a key player in the solar sector.
