New Delhi: NMDC Limited reported provisional iron ore production of 4.07 million tonnes (MT) and sales of 3.58 MT in August 2026, according to a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges. Production increased from 3.37 MT in August 2025, while sales rose from 3.39 MT during the corresponding month last year.
NMDC August 2026 Production and Sales
NMDC recorded higher iron ore production and sales in August 2026 compared with the same month of the previous year.
The key monthly figures are:
- Production: 4.07 MT in August 2026 vs 3.37 MT in August 2025
- Sales: 3.58 MT in August 2026 vs 3.39 MT in August 2025
The increase in production reflects stronger output from NMDC’s operations in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.

Chhattisgarh Drives NMDC Production Growth
Chhattisgarh continued to account for a significant share of NMDC’s iron ore production and sales during August.
In August 2026:
- Production: 2.64 MT, compared with 2.21 MT in August 2025
- Sales: 2.51 MT, compared with 2.28 MT a year earlier
Karnataka also recorded higher production during the month.
- Production: 1.43 MT, compared with 1.16 MT in August 2025
- Sales: 1.07 MT, compared with 1.11 MT in August 2025
NMDC Cumulative Production Reaches 23.23 MT
For the period through August 2026, NMDC’s cumulative iron ore production increased to 23.23 MT, compared with 18.45 MT during the corresponding period of 2025.
Cumulative sales stood at 18.72 MT, marginally higher than 18.37 MT recorded up to August 2025.

Chhattisgarh Leads Cumulative Production
Chhattisgarh remained the largest contributor to NMDC’s cumulative production through August 2026.
Production from Chhattisgarh increased to 16.42 MT from 12.29 MT in the corresponding period of 2025. Cumulative sales also rose to 14.29 MT from 12.55 MT.
In Karnataka, cumulative production increased to 6.81 MT from 6.16 MT, while cumulative sales declined to 4.43 MT from 5.82 MT.
NMDC Discloses Provisional Production and Sales Data
NMDC stated that the production and sales figures for August 2026 are provisional.
The company disclosed the figures pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
