Kokrajhar: In a step towards promoting women’s health and empowerment, NTPC Bongaigaon has donated seven sanitary napkin incinerators under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the District Administration, Kokrajhar, and the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, included five units installed at Bodoland University and two at Kokrajhar University.
Supporting Women’s Health on Campus
The installation programme was attended by Kabita Deka, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, Kokrajhar; Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club; Dr. Subung Basumatary, Registrar, Bodoland University; Debaleena Das, DGM (HR), NTPC Bongaigaon, and officials from the CSR team.
On the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) B.L. Ahuja, Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University, expressed gratitude to NTPC for its meaningful support. He highlighted that such efforts contribute to creating a safe, healthy, and enabling campus environment for women students.

Promoting Hygiene and Breaking Taboos
Dignitaries present at the event underlined the importance of this initiative in ensuring hygienic and eco-friendly disposal of menstrual waste. They stressed that access to sanitary napkin incinerators will help address menstrual health challenges, break existing taboos, and encourage young women to pursue their education with dignity and confidence.
