NTPC Bongaigaon Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, Promotes Integrity and Ethical Practices

Under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” NTPC Bongaigaon, a leading public sector undertaking, conducts Integrity Pledge, student essay competitions, and awareness sessions to strengthen transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct among employees and the community.

New Delhi: NTPC Bongaigaon joined the nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 2, 2025, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” The week-long observance aims to reinforce the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability among employees, associates, and the community.

Integrity Pledge Marks the Start of the Week

The observance began with the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Mr. Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, in the presence of Mr. Amit Asthana, AGM (HR), Mr. Ananta Samanta, DGM (Vigilance), departmental heads, employees, and representatives from unions and associations of the station.

Mr. Maitra highlighted the importance of building a corruption-free society and encouraged employees and associates to adopt transparency and accountability as core values in both professional and personal life. The pledge serves as a reminder for the organization to maintain a system driven by integrity and ethical practices.

Promoting Vigilance Among Students

As part of the observance, NTPC Bongaigaon organized an Essay Competition in Assamese and Boro languages at Salakati High School on October 25, 2025. The competition aimed to instill the values of honesty, integrity, and accountability among students.

The event was inaugurated by the Headmistress, who emphasized the importance of vigilance in daily life and the role of youth in fostering a corruption-free society. Students from various classes enthusiastically participated on the topic “Impact of Corruption on Indian Society,” sharing insights on ethics, civic responsibility, and nation-building.

Awareness Session for Contractual Workers

A special awareness session for contractual workers in the main plant area was also organized by the site vigilance team. The session focused on preventive vigilance measures, ethical practices, and responsibilities under the Integrity Pledge. Participants engaged actively, shared their experiences, and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining integrity and accountability in their workplace activities.

Strengthening a Culture of Integrity

Through these initiatives, NTPC Bongaigaon not only enhances vigilance awareness among its employees and associates but also fosters a culture of honesty, responsibility, and ethical conduct across the organization and the wider community.
