New Delhi: In a significant development in the senior leadership of NTPC Limited, two Executive Directors—Mr. Sudip Nag and Mr. Rajeev Akotkar—have officially superannuated from service on 31st July 2025. The company has announced that changes to its senior management structure will follow in the wake of their retirement.
Sudip Nag: Operational and Financial Strategist
Mr. Sudip Nag brought with him a robust portfolio of experience from various critical assignments at NTPC Limited and the NTPC Corporate Centre. A PGDBM (Operations & Finance) graduate from the Management Development Institute (2004–2005), Mr. Nag has demonstrated leadership in:
- Power Generation and Systems
- Project Commissioning
- Commercial Aspects of Power Business
- Operational Efficiency in Thermal Power Plants
His strategic contributions in aligning NTPC’s operations with evolving regulatory and commercial frameworks have been well recognized within the industry.
Rajeev Akotkar: Over 35 Years of Service Excellence
Mr. Rajeev Akotkar, who joined NTPC Ltd on 5th September 1989, concluded a distinguished career spanning more than 35.5 years. Known for his technical expertise and managerial acumen, Akotkar held key roles across multiple domains, including:
- Business Unit Head (BUH)
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
- Fuel Management
- Ash Management Operations
He has been credited for streamlining fuel logistics and environmental sustainability measures at NTPC’s major generation sites.
Leadership Transition Underway
Following the retirement of the two Executive Directors, NTPC has initiated necessary changes to its Senior Management Board. The PSU is expected to announce new appointments shortly to fill these critical roles as part of its ongoing leadership succession strategy.
The contributions of both executives were acknowledged by colleagues and management alike, with heartfelt tributes recognizing their decades of dedication to India’s energy sector.
