NTPC Green Energy Commissions 270 MW of Khavda-II Solar Project in Gujarat; Total Capacity Reaches 9,562.68 MW

New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a leading renewable energy company in India, has officially declared the third part capacity of 270 MW of its Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat as commercially operational, effective March 11, 2026.

This development marks a significant milestone in NTPC Green Energy’s expansion strategy, boosting the group’s total installed renewable energy capacity from 9,292.68 MW to 9,562.68 MW, reinforcing its position as one of India’s largest renewable energy operators.

Strategic Expansion of Renewable Energy Portfolio

The Khavda-II Solar PV Project is a key initiative under NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy. The project reflects the company’s continued commitment to clean energy and sustainable growth, aligning with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.

The third part of the project, with a capacity of 270 MW, complements the earlier phases and demonstrates NTPC Green Energy’s capability in deploying large-scale solar energy solutions. The addition strengthens the company’s footprint in Gujarat, a state rapidly emerging as a solar energy hub due to favorable climatic and infrastructural conditions.
