NTPC Northern Region Hosts Workshop on Artificial Intelligence for Employees and Families in Lucknow

Interactive Session on AI Tools and Applications Aims to Enhance Skills and Familiarize Participants with Technological Advancements

Lucknow: In a step to keep pace with technological advancements, NTPC Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) in Lucknow organized an enriching workshop on “Artificial Intelligence for Beginners” for its employees and their families. The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the evolving applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on both professional and personal spheres.

The inaugural session was attended by Mr. Samiran Sinha Ray, Regional Head of Human Resources (RHOHR), NRHQ, who welcomed the esteemed faculty, Mr. Sarabjit Ghosh, Director (IT) of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and former General Manager (IT) of NTPC Ltd., along with his team. Mr. Sinha Ray shared that the workshop initiative was spearheaded by Mr. Goutam Deb, RED (North), with the aim of equipping employees and their families with a foundational understanding of AI and its practical uses.

Objective and Insights of the Workshop

During his address, Mr. Sinha Ray emphasized that the objective of the workshop was to enable participants to stay updated with the rapid technological changes shaping today’s world. He highlighted the importance of understanding how AI can be leveraged as an effective tool for personal and professional development in a constantly evolving technological landscape.

Mr. Sarabjit Ghosh, who led the session, underscored the growing significance of AI in various industries. He stressed that integrating AI into everyday operations is key to boosting efficiency and productivity. However, he also pointed out the importance of maintaining the balance between automation and human creativity, ensuring that AI complements rather than replaces human expertise.

The workshop offered valuable insights into a range of AI tools and their practical applications, including automation, data analysis, and decision-making processes. The highly interactive session allowed participants to gain hands-on knowledge, making the learning experience both practical and engaging.

Extending the Learning to Families

In the later part of the day, a similar workshop was held exclusively for the spouses of employees and members of the Uttra Ladies Club, with a focus on integrating AI into everyday life. This session aimed to help family members understand how AI technologies, such as smart assistants and home automation, can simplify daily tasks and improve efficiency at home. The session was met with great enthusiasm and positive feedback from the participants.

The event marked a significant step in NTPC’s commitment to fostering continuous learning and upskilling, not only for employees but also for their families, as part of its ongoing efforts to adapt to the rapidly changing digital world.
