New Delhi: In a major step toward expanding green energy in Goa, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
The MoU aims to facilitate the development of 300 MW or more of renewable energy projects, with or without energy storage solutions, in the state of Goa.

The agreement was formally exchanged on July 18, 2025, between Sh. Gauresh Ashok Pilgaonkar, Managing Director of GEDA, and Sh. Pushpendra Tyagi, Chief Financial Officer of NTPC REL. The signing took place in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa and senior government officials.

Key Focus on Sustainable Power Infrastructure
The collaboration is expected to enhance Goa’s renewable energy footprint, helping the state move toward its sustainability goals. The initiative will focus not only on large-scale solar or wind installations but also on integrating energy storage systems to ensure reliability and grid stability.
With this move, NTPC REL continues its mission to support India’s transition to clean energy, aligning with the national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
