Bhubaneswar: In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced changes in the IPS and OPS cadre, with new Superintendents of Police (SPs) appointed for two districts – Bhadrak and Nabarangpur.
The notification was issued by the Home Department and includes the transfer of one IPS officer and the elevation of a senior OPS officer.
Madkar Sandeep Sampat Transferred to Nabarangpur
Madkar Sandeep Sampat, a 2012-batch IPS officer currently serving as SP of Bhadrak, has been transferred and posted as SP of Nabarangpur district. Mr Sampat is known for his proactive law enforcement style and was at the helm during several key law and order operations in Bhadrak.
OPS Officer Manoj Kumar Rout Appointed as New Bhadrak SP
Manoj Kumar Rout, a senior officer of the Odisha Police Service (OPS), has been appointed as the new SP of Bhadrak. Rout previously held the position of Additional SP in Keonjhar.
This appointment marks a homecoming for Rout, who has extensive policing experience in Bhadrak, having served as Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) at several police stations in the district.
A Proven Track Record in Multiple Districts
Rout has been widely appreciated for his efficient and people-centric policing in Bhadrak, Balasore, and Keonjhar districts. During his tenure in various field postings, he earned multiple commendations and was felicitated on numerous occasions for his professional dedication and service to public safety.
His familiarity with Bhadrak’s law enforcement landscape is expected to help in maintaining continuity and strengthening policing efforts in the district.
