Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Charan Majhi led Odisha government has issued transfer and posting orders for seven IAS officers, bringing changes across key departments including education, home, forest and environment, health, excise, public relations and infrastructure.
The orders were issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department on August 25, 2026, and assign new responsibilities to officers at various levels of the state administration.
Among the key changes, Jugaleswari Dash has been appointed Director, Secondary Education, while Archana Das Pattanaik will take charge as Director, AYUSH. Sanjay Kumar Biswal has been appointed Director of Information and Public Relations (IPR), Bhubaneswar.
Birendra Korkora Gets Home Department Posting
Birendra Korkora, IAS (SCS:2014), who was serving as Director, Secondary Education, has been transferred and appointed Additional Secretary to the Government in the Home Department.
He will move from the education sector to the Home Department as part of the latest administrative reshuffle.
Taking over his previous assignment is Jugaleswari Dash, IAS (SCS:2015).
Jugaleswari Dash Appointed Director, Secondary Education
Jugaleswari Dash, IAS (SCS:2015), who was serving as Director, OBC, has been appointed Director, Secondary Education.
She will take charge of the position vacated by Birendra Korkora.
The appointment places Dash in charge of a key department responsible for the administration and implementation of secondary education-related programmes in the state.
Aradhana Das Moved to Forest & Environment Department
Aradhana Das, IAS (SCS:2014), has also been transferred.
Das, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Home Department, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department.
Her latest posting shifts her from the Home Department to the state’s forest and environment administration.
Archana Das Pattanaik Appointed Director, AYUSH
The health and traditional medicine sector has also seen a change in leadership.
Archana Das Pattanaik, IAS (SCS:2015), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Excise Department, has been appointed Director, AYUSH.
She will move to the AYUSH department, which deals with the promotion and administration of traditional systems of medicine in Odisha.
Anjana Panda Moves to Excise Department
Anjana Panda, IAS (SCS:2015), who was serving as Director, AYUSH, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Excise Department.
Thus, the latest orders effectively result in a change of assignments between the two officers, with Archana Das Pattanaik moving to AYUSH and Anjana Panda taking charge in Excise.
Sanjay Kumar Biswal Appointed Director, IPR
Sanjay Kumar Biswal, IAS (NSCS:2015), Additional Secretary in the Commerce & Transport Department, has been appointed Director of Information and Public Relations (IPR), Bhubaneswar.
The appointment gives Biswal charge of an important position in the state’s public communication machinery, responsible for information dissemination and communication relating to government policies and programmes.
He will move from the Commerce & Transport Department to the Information and Public Relations setup.
Sundara Madhaba Padhi Gets Odisha Maritime Board Charge
Sundara Madhaba Padhi, IAS (NSCS:2020), who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Works Department, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Odisha Maritime Board.
In addition to his new assignment, Padhi will hold additional charge as General Manager of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).
His appointment gives him responsibilities in both the state’s maritime administration and road transport sector.
