Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Simhastha 2028 Mahaparv in Ujjain will be grand, divine, extraordinary and memorable with the blessings of Baba Mahakal.
Addressing the responsibility-taking ceremony of Simhastha Mela Authority Chairman Jagdish Agrawal through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that development works being undertaken in Ujjain ahead of the mega religious gathering would give the city a beautiful and well-organised appearance before the festival.
Ujjain Development Works to Transform City Ahead of Simhastha
CM Mohan Yadav said preparations for Simhastha are being carried out with a focus on providing better facilities and services to devotees, saints and visitors. He said the administration, saints and various organisations should fulfil their respective responsibilities for the successful organisation of the Mahaparv.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the event would be organised with the participation and cooperation of all sections of society.
Key focus areas include:
- Better facilities and services for devotees
- Improved arrangements for saints and religious leaders
- Development of Ujjain’s infrastructure
- Cooperation between the administration, saints and various organisations
- Participation of citizens from all sections of society

Government to Support Development of Public Facilities
CM Yadav appealed to farmers who have available land to consider developing facilities such as schools, hospitals and hostels, with government support. He highlighted the collective contribution being made towards preparations for Simhastha and Ujjain’s development.
The Chief Minister said several people from different communities have voluntarily provided land for religious places, while many citizens have also made space available from their houses and commercial establishments for development works.
More Religious Places in Ujjain to Be Developed
The Chief Minister said Ujjain holds a special place in India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, with saints and seers playing an important role in strengthening the identity of Sanatan Dharma.
He added that other prominent religious places in Ujjain would also be developed in the coming period.
According to the Chief Minister, these initiatives will help:
- Improve facilities at prominent religious destinations
- Give religious places a more developed and grand appearance
- Strengthen Ujjain’s spiritual and cultural identity
- Support the city’s overall development ahead of Simhastha 2028
Saints Welcome Preparations for Simhastha 2028
Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balayogi Shri Umesh Nath Maharaj said Simhastha is a centre of faith and belief for millions of devotees. He noted that the Chief Minister is focused on giving the upcoming Mahaparv a grand form.
Local Akhada Parishad President Mahant Shri Rameshwardas Maharaj said the Chief Minister has undertaken historic works for Simhastha 2028 and expressed confidence that the upcoming Kumbh would be organised on a grand scale.
Simhastha Preparations Underway on a Large Scale
MP Anil Firoziya described Simhastha as one of the world’s largest religious gatherings associated with Sanatan Dharma. He said preparations are being undertaken on a scale matching the importance of the event. Firoziya also highlighted the impact of Mahakal Lok in promoting the spiritual identity and global recognition of Baba Mahakal and Ujjain.
Simhastha Mela Authority Chairman Jagdish Agrawal said preparations for the historic event have begun under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Jagdish Agrawal Takes Charge as Simhastha Mela Authority Chairman
During the responsibility-taking ceremony held at the Simhastha Mela Office premises, Jagdish Agrawal performed worship of Lord Mahakal’s picture in the presence of saints and mahants.He subsequently assumed charge as Chairman of the Simhastha Mela Authority at an auspicious time amid the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The ceremony was attended by several public representatives, saints, mahants and dignitaries.

- Ravi Solanki, Chairman, Ujjain Development Authority
- Om Jain, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Housing Board
- Saubhagya Singh, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation
- Mukesh Yadav, Vice Chairman, Ujjain Development Authority
- Former MLA Rajendra Bharti
- Ramlal Malviya
- Jagdish Panchal
Several prominent saints and mahants also attended the programme, including Mahant Bhagwan Das Maharaj of Nirmohi Akhada, Mahant Digvijay Das of Nirvani Akhada, Mahant Digvijay Das Maharaj of Digambar Akhada, Mahant Devgiri Maharaj of Atal Akhada and Mahant Karanpuri Maharaj of Avahan Akhada.
The programme was conducted by Kamal Bairwa, while Jagdish Panchal proposed the vote of thanks.
