Guwahati: Oil India Limited (OIL) has won the First Prize in the Technical Poster Presentation at the North East Region Gas Conclave 2026, organised by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) on October 9, 2026, at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Guwahati, Assam.

The award-winning poster, titled “Unlocking North-East Gas Potential,” was prepared by Ms Sanjukta Baruah, Debasish Das and Tasrique Alam Haque from OIL’s GMS Department. The recognition highlights the company’s technical expertise and commitment to exploring the natural gas potential of Northeast India.

North East Region Gas Conclave 2026 Focuses on the 4As of Natural Gas

The North East Region Gas Conclave 2026 was organised around the theme “4As – Availability, Accessibility, Affordability and Acceptability of Natural Gas.”

The event brought together representatives from public sector undertakings, private companies, state-owned entities and regional City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies to discuss opportunities and challenges in developing the natural gas ecosystem across Northeast India.

The four pillars of the conclave focused on:

  • Availability: Strengthening natural gas supply and exploring regional gas resources.
  • Accessibility: Improving pipeline connectivity and distribution infrastructure.
  • Affordability: Promoting cost-effective access to natural gas for industries and consumers.
  • Acceptability: Encouraging wider adoption of natural gas across different sectors.

The discussions highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts among energy companies, infrastructure developers and other stakeholders to harness the region’s natural gas resources and establish a robust, sustainable gas ecosystem.
