ONGC ATI Goa, NFSC Nagpur Sign MoU to Strengthen Fire Safety and Emergency Response Training

MoU focuses on advanced safety training, crisis preparedness, and capacity building for high-risk energy operations

New Delhi: ONGC’s Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Goa, has entered into a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, marking a significant step toward strengthening specialised training in fire safety, emergency response, and crisis preparedness within the energy sector.

The collaboration is designed to enhance preparedness across complex and high-risk operating environments through structured knowledge sharing and advanced capacity-building initiatives.

Focus on Advanced Safety Training

Under the MoC, both institutions will work together to develop advanced training modules, promote structured knowledge exchange, and strengthen professional competencies in fire prevention, disaster management, and emergency response. The initiative aims to build a pool of resilient, skilled, and future-ready safety professionals, capable of addressing evolving risks in the oil and gas industry.

MoC Signed by Senior Officials

The Memorandum was formally signed on 18 December 2025 by N.B. Shingane, Director, NFSC Nagpur, and Saket Gupta, Executive Director–Chief, ATI Goa. The agreement reflects a shared commitment by both organisations to raise safety standards and enhance crisis preparedness through institutional collaboration.

ATI Goa’s Role in Safety Excellence

A key pillar of ONGC’s presence in Goa is its Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health, and Environment Management (IPSHEM), popularly known as ATI-ONGC. The institute is being developed as a world-class training hub, equipped with advanced facilities such as a sea survival training centre, wellhead platform simulator, and a modern convention centre. These facilities are designed to prepare personnel for offshore safety challenges and the broader needs of the energy sector.
