New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India’s flagship energy company, has disclosed its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings for FY2025 as assessed by NSE Sustainability Ratings & Analytics Limited (NSE) and Climate Change scores provided by CDP, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
Improved ESG Score Highlights Sustainable Practices
ONGC received an overall ESG score of 61 for FY2025 from NSE Sustainability, reflecting an improvement over the 58 scored in FY2024. This places ONGC in the “Adequate” rating category, indicating steady progress in its sustainability initiatives.
Breaking down the scores across categories:
- Environment: 51
- Social: 73
- Governance: 63
The assessment was carried out independently by NSE Sustainability based on publicly available data, without any involvement from ONGC, ensuring transparency and credibility in the evaluation.

CDP Climate Change Score Acknowledges Governance and Risk Management
In addition to the ESG rating, ONGC received a Climate Change score of ‘B’ from CDP. The score reflects the company’s performance in climate-related governance, policies, and risk management, based on ONGC’s responses to CDP’s disclosure framework. This rating underscores the company’s commitment to addressing climate change and integrating sustainability into its operations.
