ONGC Green Signs MoU with IIM Nagpur to Boost India’s Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen, and Sustainability Initiatives

New Delhi/Nagpur: In a strategic move to bolster India’s clean energy ecosystem, ONGC Green Limited, the renewable energy arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur. The partnership aims to strengthen research, policy development, and leadership capabilities in the renewable and future energy sectors, supporting India’s transition to a low-carbon and energy-secure future.

Bridging Academia and Industry for Clean Energy

The collaboration is designed to integrate academic excellence with industry-scale operations. By leveraging IIM Nagpur’s research capabilities and ONGC Green’s operational expertise, the initiative seeks to create actionable insights and strategic frameworks that can accelerate India’s Net-Zero objectives. The MoU focuses on enabling informed decision-making, innovation, and capacity building, which are critical to a resilient and sustainable energy transition.

Under the partnership, ONGC Green and IIM Nagpur will work on multiple high-impact sectors:

  2. Future Fuels: Developing sustainable frameworks for Green Hydrogen and Biofuels, aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and diversify India’s energy mix.
  3. Sustainability & ESG: Strengthening Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices while exploring emerging carbon and green credit markets to support sustainable growth.
  4. Capacity Building: Implementing specialized training programs to nurture leadership in the green energy sector, generate skilled employment, and prepare a workforce capable of supporting India’s energy transition.

This MoU aligns with ONGC Green’s renewable expansion roadmap and India’s long-term commitment to achieving a low-carbon future.
