New Delhi: In a major step toward strengthening India’s offshore energy sector, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have formalised a strategic resource-sharing collaboration. The partnership supports the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of shared infrastructure and aims to enhance India’s energy security.

The collaboration was announced on the first day of India Energy Week 2026, where ONGC and Reliance signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on improving offshore exploration and production efficiency.

Focus on Shared Resources and Faster Project Execution

Under the agreement, ONGC and Reliance will explore opportunities to jointly utilise offshore resources, infrastructure, and technical capabilities. This approach is expected to reduce duplication, optimise capital investment, and accelerate the execution of offshore energy projects.

By working together, both companies aim to unlock efficiencies and ensure timely development of offshore assets, which are critical for meeting India’s growing energy needs.

The initiative also aligns with the government’s broader maritime and energy vision, reinforcing India’s focus on self-reliance, sustainable development, and faster project delivery in the offshore sector.

More Announcements Expected at India Energy Week 2026
