In the view to control illegal building construction in Panchkula, District commissioner Mr Vinay Pratap Singh has ordered the officers to expedite demolition drives against these constructions on Tuesday. This announcement was done on the same day when the ‘Panchkula metropolitan development authority Bill’ was sanctioned in vidhansabha.
Demolition drive is set to run on fast phase as special magisterial powers have been given to concerned nodal officers.
A meeting of ‘ District task force committee ‘ was held to discuss the execution of demolition drive. In the meeting, District commissioner said ” unauthorised construction is a serious issue and you all need to act promptly to keep an eye on such activities.” Along with the PWD officers , magesterial powers are given to municipal corporation too. All the Police personnel are asked for their active participation and ordered for timely deployment on demolition sites to control any unfavourable situation.
