New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has officially invited applications for the post of Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), signaling the company’s move to appoint a permanent successor to Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, who has been holding the post on an additional charge basis since March 2025.
Sinha, currently serving as Director (Operations) at HCL, was granted two extensions to continue handling the responsibilities of Director (Mining) until September 21, 2025. With this timeline approaching, the PESB has now opened the position for new applicants, setting September 23, 2025, as the last date for submission.
Role and Responsibilities
The Director (Mining) is a key member of the Board of Directors and reports directly to the Chairman and Managing Director. The role encompasses:
- Strategic planning and development of mining operations
- Overseeing opencast and underground mine plants
- Ensuring smooth production and operations
- Participating in high-level policymaking decisions
- Supervising and managing all mining-related activities across the organization
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Be an engineering graduate
- Have at least 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in planning, development, production, or operations in the mining sector
- The experience must be within a large, reputed organization
