New Delhi — The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has selected Chandran Durai Deniel for appointment as Director (Bulk Carriers & Tankers) at The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) Limited, following an official selection meeting held on July 17.
Deniel currently serves as General Manager, Bulk Carrier Commercial and SVC Commercial at SCI, and brings years of domain expertise and operational leadership in India’s maritime sector.
Final Appointment Awaits ACC Clearance
The PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. His appointment will be subject to the receipt of all necessary vigilance clearances and the formal nod from the ACC, as per standard procedure.

Deniel was chosen from a pool of six candidates, all of whom were senior-level executives from SCI and related public sector undertakings. The list of applicants interviewed included:
