New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Anand Mohan, currently serving as General Manager at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), for the post of Director (Technical) at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI).
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 10/2026, held at 11:00 AM on February 12, 2026. Mr. Mohan was selected following a rigorous interview process involving eleven senior executives from various Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
Competitive Selection Process
The selection process saw participation from senior leaders across major public sector companies in India’s mining and energy sector. The candidates interviewed included:

- Mr. Rajesh Ralhan – Regional Director, CMPI
- Mr. Ranjay Sinha – General Manager, Central Coalfields Limited
- Mr. Anand Mohan – General Manager, Eastern Coalfields Limited (Recommended)
- Mr. Sanjeev Kumar – GM (Production), Northern Coalfields Limited
- Mr. Binod Kumar Gupta – Executive Director, Hindustan Copper Limited
- Mr. Cheruku Dayanand – Executive Director, NLC India Limited
- Mr. Vijaya Kumar S – Executive Director, NLC India Limited
After evaluating the candidates’ technical expertise, leadership experience, and sectoral knowledge, PESB recommended Mr. Anand Mohan for the key technical role.
