Pilibhit/Lucknow: A heartwarming and inspiring interaction unfolded at the Pilibhit Collectorate when students from a government school met District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh, an IAS officer of 2014 batch. During the visit, a young student’s question – “Sir, I want to become a DM. How should I study?” – not only won hearts but also led to a motivating session on goal-setting and disciplined preparation for civil services.
Educational Visit to Collectorate
As part of an educational excursion, students from the Composite School in Barha (Lalauri Khera Block) visited the Collectorate to understand administrative functioning.

Their teacher, Santosh Khare, introduced them to the significance of the building, explaining that it serves as the office of the District Magistrate. This sparked curiosity and excitement among the students, who were eager to witness governance up close.

During the interaction, student Sonali expressed her aspiration to become a District Magistrate and asked how she should prepare.
Smiling at her confidence, DM Gyanendra Singh responded with simple yet powerful advice:
“First, set a clear goal that you want to join the Civil Services. Then, dedicate fixed study hours every day to achieve it.”
Another student, Sanjana, also asked about the steps required to become a Collector, while others inquired about the DM’s educational journey.
