New Delhi: POWERGRID, India’s leading power transmission company, has officially declared its 400/220 kV Bidadi Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation as a Pink Substation—the second such facility in its Southern Region-II. This initiative is part of POWERGRID’s ongoing commitment to women empowerment by operating and managing substations led entirely by women executives.

Women Leadership at the Helm

The Bidadi GIS Pink Substation is headed by Ms. Reeni Rafi Alapatt, Deputy General Manager (DGM), who oversees the entire operations with dedication and expertise. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mukund Sharad Hejib, Chief General Manager (I/c) of Southern Region-II, along with other senior officials, highlighting the importance POWERGRID places on inclusive leadership and gender diversity.
