New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan will continue to hold the additional charge of Director (Projects) for another three months, according to a regulatory filing by the company.
The extension came into effect from July 1, 2026, and will continue until a regular incumbent assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The decision ensures continuity in the leadership of POWERGRID’s projects division as the company continues to undertake major power transmission infrastructure initiatives across India.
Ministry of Power Approves Extension for Director (Projects) Role
The extension of Rama Mohan’s additional charge has been approved through a Ministry of Power order dated July 23, 2026.
POWERGRID informed the stock exchanges about the development on July 23, 2026, by submitting disclosures to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and BSE Limited in accordance with applicable listing regulations.

Previous Additional Charge Was Granted in April 2026
Rama Mohan was initially assigned the additional charge of Director (Projects) for a period of three months starting April 1, 2026.
The earlier arrangement was approved through a Ministry of Power order dated April 6, 2026.
With the latest extension, he will continue handling the additional responsibility for another three months from July 1, 2026, until a permanent appointment is made.
