Boost to Oncology Services in North India
The CSR contribution is aimed at enhancing diagnostic and interventional oncology services, particularly benefiting patients from Punjab and neighboring states. POWERGRID representatives reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem.
They stated that the installation of advanced diagnostic systems would enable faster and more accurate diagnosis, improve treatment planning, and reduce the burden on patients who otherwise need to travel long distances for specialized cancer care.
Advanced Equipment Included in the Handover
The handover includes two cutting-edge medical imaging systems designed to improve precision and patient outcomes:
- Bi-Plane Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) System worth ₹5.75 crore, which supports advanced neurovascular and interventional oncology procedures.
- 128-Slice CT Scan Machine valued at ₹6.50 crore, offering high-speed imaging with superior accuracy for cancer detection and treatment planning.
The installation of these systems is expected to reduce dependency on external diagnostic centres and streamline the management of complex oncology cases.
HBCHRC Expresses Gratitude
Expressing his appreciation, Dr (Prof) Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCHRC, thanked POWERGRID for its timely support.
“This contribution from POWERGRID marks a significant milestone for our hospital. These advanced tools will greatly enhance our interventional capabilities and bring us closer to delivering world-class cancer care to the people of Punjab and surrounding regions,” he said.
