New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a leading ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has posted robust financial results for the third quarter (Q3) and nine months ended December 31, 2025.
For Q3FY26, POWERGRID reported impressive financial figures on both standalone and consolidated bases, demonstrating significant growth in key metrics.
Q3FY26 Performance Highlights: Profit and Income Surge
On a standalone basis, POWERGRID reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹4,160 crore and a Total Income of ₹12,436 crore, marking a 7% YoY growth in both metrics. On a consolidated basis, the figures were slightly higher with a PAT of ₹4,185 crore and Total Income of ₹12,599 crore, achieving 8% and 7% YoY growth, respectively.
Nine-Month Performance: Strong Cumulative Results
For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, POWERGRID posted impressive cumulative results:
- Standalone PAT: ₹11,368 crore
- Standalone Total Income: ₹35,041 crore
- Consolidated PAT: ₹11,382 crore
- Consolidated Total Income: ₹35,714 crore
These figures demonstrate consistent growth and robust financial health, reinforcing POWERGRID’s position as a key player in the Indian power sector.
Record Gross Fixed Assets Cross ₹3 Trillion Milestone
In a significant achievement, POWERGRID’s Gross Fixed Assets, including Gross Lease Receivables, surpassed the ₹3 trillion mark, standing at ₹3,04,336 crore as of December 31, 2025. This milestone marks the first time the company has crossed the ₹3 trillion threshold, underscoring its growing infrastructure and asset base.
Capital Expenditure and Projects
During the first nine months of FY26, POWERGRID incurred a substantial Capital Expenditure (CapEx) of ₹26,761 crore and capitalized assets worth ₹12,915 crore (excluding Foreign Exchange Rate Variation but including Finance Lease assets) on a consolidated basis.
In terms of project execution, POWERGRID continued to demonstrate its leadership in the power sector, with Works in Hand valued at approximately ₹1,45,500 crore as of January 2026.
Innovative Projects and Achievements
POWERGRID also marked a milestone by securing its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Kalikiri, Andhra Pradesh, under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. This development aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and the growing demand for energy storage solutions in India’s power infrastructure.
Transmission System and Sustainability Initiatives
As of January 29, 2026, POWERGRID’s total transmission assets included:
- 1,83,174 circuit kilometers (ckm) of transmission lines
- 287 substations
- 5,99,016 MVA of transformation capacity
Additionally, the company maintained an impressive average transmission system availability of 99.84% during the nine months of FY26, reflecting its operational efficiency and commitment to reliability.
In line with its sustainability goals, POWERGRID achieved 50% power consumption from renewable sources. The company also reinforced its environmental leadership by commissioning Asia’s first 315 MVA, 400/220 kV synthetic ester oil-filled transformer at the HVDC Bhiwadi Substation.
Dividend Announcement: Shareholder Returns
The Board of Directors of POWERGRID declared a second interim dividend of ₹3.25 per equity share (₹10 each), which represents 32.50% of the paid-up equity share capital. This follows the earlier first interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share for FY 2025-26, bringing the total interim dividend for the year to ₹7.75 per equity share.
