UP Tops National Rankings in Housing, Agriculture, MSME Growth, and Digital Governance Under CM Yogi Adityanath

State Achieves Landmark Progress Across Social Welfare, Infrastructure, Education, and Skill Development Through Effective Policy Implementation

Lucknow: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has secured a strong position across multiple development indicators in India. The state’s effective implementation of central and state government schemes has translated policies from paper to real-world impact, highlighting a results-driven governance model.

The state has consistently topped national rankings in several flagship programs, demonstrating the administration’s focus on outcome-based development and comprehensive public service delivery.

From Policy to Practice: Tangible Impact on the Ground

Uttar Pradesh has gone beyond mere announcements, ensuring schemes are implemented effectively. This approach has strengthened the state’s presence in sectors such as housing, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, energy, digital governance, and education.

The state also emerged as a top achiever in ease of doing business, making it an attractive destination for investment and economic activity.

Housing: Leading in PM Awas Yojana

Uttar Pradesh has secured the first position nationwide in housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural and urban). Over the past nine years, more than 62 lakh families have received permanent houses, significantly improving the living standards of economically weaker and middle-class families.

Social Security: Top Rank in Atal Pension Yojana

The state also leads the country in Atal Pension Yojana registrations, expanding social security coverage for unorganized sector workers and ensuring future economic stability for vulnerable populations.

MSME and Employment: Driving Industrial Growth

Uttar Pradesh has prioritized industrial development by strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The state now hosts over 96 lakh MSME units, generating employment opportunities and promoting local manufacturing. The government has focused on linking youth with self-employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.

Agriculture: Maintaining a Leading Role

In agriculture, Uttar Pradesh continues to excel in sugarcane, sugar, grains, mangoes, milk, and potato production. Farmers now receive subsidy payments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), enhancing transparency and eliminating intermediaries. The state became the first in India to implement this system at scale.

Infrastructure and Connectivity: Rapid Expansion

Uttar Pradesh has achieved significant progress in infrastructure and connectivity, with 7 expressways and 4 operational international airports, including ongoing construction of the Noida International Airport. This has accelerated investment, industrial growth, and tourism in the state.

Social Welfare: Leading in Swachh Bharat and Ujjwala Scheme

The state has been a national leader in rural sanitation, constructing the maximum number of toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission. It also tops in Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana with free gas connections, improving cooking facilities for thousands of poor households.

Digital Governance: Transparency and Efficiency

Uttar Pradesh has made significant strides in digital governance. The state leads in government procurement through GEM (Government e-Marketplace) and worker registrations under NPS Traders, ensuring transparency and faster service delivery.

Education, Skill Development, and Ethanol Production

The state has been at the forefront of implementing the National Education Policy 2020, making notable progress in education and skill development programs. Uttar Pradesh also leads in ethanol production and supply, further strengthening its economic footprint.
