New Delhi: State-owned power transmission giant Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has approved the promotion of 12 senior officials to the position of Executive Directors (EDs), strengthening leadership across key functional and project areas, including transmission, HVDC, IT, HR, and renewable energy.
The decision was taken by the Board of Directors at a meeting held on January 25, 2026, in accordance with SEBI regulations. The promotions are effective from the same date, with terms governed by POWERGRID’s service rules.
Key Executive Director Appointments
The new Executive Directors bring expertise in various critical areas:
- Mr. Sanjay Sharma, CEO (POWERTEL): Telecom infrastructure and asset monetisation
- Mr. Abhay Kumar, ED (Engineering): Substation engineering and international consultancy
- Mr. Abhinav Verma, ED (Rajasthan Projects): Renewable energy transmission projects
- Vineeta Agarwal, CEO (PESL): Smart grids, digital transformation, and distribution management
- Mr. M. S. Hejib, ED (SR-II): ERP, IT systems, and TBCB project execution
- Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO (EESL): Renewable energy transmission and business development
- Kumud Wadhwa, ED (ERP & IT): Enterprise IT modernization and smart grid initiatives
- Mr. Harinarayanan Puthan Kalam, ED (HR): Human resources with 35+ years of experience
- Mr. Vikas Bagadia, ED (CTUIL): HVDC transmission backbone
- Mr. Ashok Kumar Naik, ED (ER-II): Cross-border transmission and consultancy projects
