Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving India a new identity on the global stage, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting Indians worldwide. Addressing the 25th meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Varanasi, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Dr Yadav highlighted India’s historic progress and the spirit of cooperative federalism under Modi’s administration.
India’s Growing Global Voice and “Operation Sindoor”
Dr. Yadav noted that India’s internal development has been matched by an enhanced international reputation, with the country’s voice gaining decisive and respectable recognition globally. He cited “Operation Sindoor” as a symbol of India’s readiness to go to any length for the safety, honor, and prestige of its citizens abroad. The Prime Minister’s assurance that the Government of India acts as a shield for every Indian, regardless of their location, was strongly reaffirmed.
Strengthening Federalism Through Dialogue and Partnership
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of states in India’s journey towards ‘Developed India 2047.’ He praised institutional mechanisms like the NITI Aayog, Chief Ministers Council, and Regional Councils for fostering dialogue and solutions. “Ideologies may differ, but the country’s future is shared,” Dr. Yadav said, reinforcing the notion that cooperative federalism is alive and vital.
He further explained that under Modi’s leadership, the relationship between the Centre and states has transformed from competition to partnership, accelerating progress in disaster management, internal security, and infrastructure development.
Madhya Pradesh’s Development Milestones and Future Plans
Dr. Yadav presented key achievements of Madhya Pradesh during the meeting-
Public Service Reforms: After nine years of stagnation, the state approved the Public Service Promotion Rules 2025, benefiting 5 lakh employees and enabling recruitment for 2 lakh vacant posts, boosting morale and efficiency.
Urban Growth and Healthcare Expansion: Following the Growth Hub Model of NITI Aayog, five metropolitan cities are being developed with new planning legislation. The state currently operates 17 government medical colleges, with plans to open six more in the next two years, including new institutions in Singrauli and Sheopur. Initiatives like Medicity in Ujjain and 12 PPP-model medical colleges are underway.
Health Initiatives: Efforts to reduce infant and maternal mortality continue through multi-departmental task forces and nutrition programs like Mission Vatsalya and Poshan 2.0, lifting over 12 lakh children out of malnutrition.
Digital Governance: The e-Panchayat project delivers key citizen services online at the Gram Panchayat level, while the Sampada 2.0 portal digitalizes property registration to ensure transparency.
Strengthening Dairy Sector and Justice Delivery
Dr. Yadav spoke on the government’s commitment to making Madhya Pradesh the milk capital by partnering with the National Dairy Development Board and aiming to increase milk collection from 10 lakh liters to 50 lakh liters in five years, empowering primary dairy cooperatives and the Sanchi brand.
He also highlighted the establishment of a fast-track special court for sensitive crimes against children, reporting a 70.87% investigation completion rate for POCSO cases in 2025, while ongoing improvements in resources and monitoring aim to reduce pending cases.
Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan and Environmental Initiatives
The Chief Minister shared success of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan campaign (March-June 2025), aimed at rainwater harvesting and water source renovation, with Khandwa district ranked first nationally for water conservation structures. He announced plans for a large-scale plantation campaign to follow, emphasizing public participation as key to these environmental efforts.
