Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: Ms Priyadarshini Gaddam, currently serving as Director (Personnel) at NMDC Steel Ltd, has been granted a six-month extension in her additional role as Director (Finance) of the company. The extension, effective from June 6, 2025, will continue until December 5, 2025, or until a regular incumbent assumes charge – whichever occurs earlier.

Extension Approved by Ministry of Steel

The extension has been approved by the Ministry of Steel, which has entrusted Ms Gaddam with the continued dual responsibility. This move is in line with the government’s strategy to maintain leadership continuity and operational stability within major public sector undertakings in the absence of a permanent appointee for the finance role.

Background and Previous Roles

Ms Gaddam took charge as Director (Personnel) of NMDC Limited, a Navratna public sector mining enterprise, on February 28, 2025. She has a long-standing association with the NMDC group and has previously served as Chief General Manager (P&A) and Head of Personnel at both the NMDC Corporate Office in Hyderabad and at NMDC Steel Limited in Nagarnar.

Her experience spans across strategic personnel and administrative functions, making her a reliable choice for temporary charge of finance during this transitional phase.

NMDC Steel’s Leadership Structure in Transition

The appointment comes as NMDC Steel Ltd, a state-owned steel company carved out from NMDC Ltd, is currently navigating key leadership appointments, particularly for critical roles like finance. The extension ensures that financial oversight and governance remain uninterrupted.

About NMDC Steel Limited

NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) is a public sector enterprise owned by the Government of India, with the Ministry of Steel as its administrative body.
