CONCOR and IIT Roorkee Join Hands to Develop AI-Based Solution for Next-Generation Logistics Operations

New Delhi: State-owned logistics major Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Roorkee to collaborate on the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven Decision Support System aimed at improving smart logistics planning, inventory management, and network optimisation.

The collaboration will utilise advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Geospatial Analytics, and Operations Research to enhance CONCOR’s logistics operations and support the development of next-generation intelligent supply chain solutions.

AI-Based System to Transform Logistics Planning

The proposed AI-driven Decision Support System will help CONCOR optimise various aspects of its logistics network.

The collaboration will focus on improving:

  • Train planning and scheduling
  • Trailer utilisation
  • Container inventory management
  • Network optimisation
  • Multimodal logistics operations
