New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL), a leading engineering consultancy and EPC company, has been granted a patent for its breakthrough innovation in fired heater technology – an Air Distribution Duct System titled “EngUniflowChakra”. This marks a significant advancement in enhancing efficiency, reducing maintenance, and simplifying design in industrial heating systems.

Patent-Backed Innovation Simplifies Fired Heater Systems

The patented air distribution system addresses key challenges in conventional fired heater designs. Traditionally, uniform air distribution across burners required Expansion Joints, which added to manufacturing complexity and recurring maintenance.

EIL’s newly patented system eliminates the need for these joints, enabling uniform air delivery to each burner through an intelligently designed ducting mechanism. This not only reduces fabrication and maintenance costs but also enhances the overall reliability of the system.

EngUniflowChakra: A Result of Smart Geometry, Not Complex Simulation

The design adheres to a set of geometrical principles that make it inherently balanced and predictable. As a result, it removes the need for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modelling, which is often time-consuming and expensive.

Additionally, the system avoids costly internal duct modifications, making it ideal for deployment in large-scale refinery and petrochemical projects where fired heaters are extensively used.

Proven in Real-World Projects

This innovative ducting system has already been successfully deployed in multiple past projects, where it demonstrated exceptional performance and uniform combustion, validating its practical efficiency and reliability.

EIL continues to focus on indigenous innovations that support the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative by offering cost-effective and high-performing engineering solutions.

About EIL

Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, known for its work in engineering consultancy and turnkey execution in various sectors including oil & gas, petrochemicals, infrastructure, and environment.
