Sipan Kumar Garg has been selected as the upcoming Director (Finance) of THDC (India) Limited, a prominent PSU under the Ministry of Power, as per the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Currently serving as Additional General Manager (Finance) at NTPC Limited, Mr. Garg emerged as the chosen candidate following interviews conducted by the PESB panel on March 19.
Among the nine contenders interviewed, Mr. Garg stood out from the pool which included candidates from various esteemed organizations such as THDC, NTPC, REC Limited, SJVN Limited, and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited.
Mr. Garg holds the title of Associate Chartered Accountant (Finance & Accounts) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is also a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
In his new role as Director (Finance) at THDC, Mr. Garg will assume a pivotal position as a member of the Board of Directors, reporting directly to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). Tasked with overseeing the financial operations of the organization, he will be responsible for devising and implementing policies pertaining to finance and accounts. His mandate will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, ranging from financial strategy development to implementation and management.
