New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is set to conduct selection interviews for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at the Container Corporation of India on April 18, 2026. Eight shortlisted candidates from various public sector undertakings (PSUs) will compete for the top leadership position at the Schedule ‘A’ railways company.
PESB Announces CMD Interview Dates
The selection process comes after PESB had advertised the vacancy on October 10, 2025, for the CMD post at CONCOR, which will fall vacant on July 31, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates were invited to submit applications by November 2, 2025.
PESB’s rigorous selection process ensures that only candidates with proven leadership experience in PSUs are considered for the strategic role, which oversees CONCOR’s operations across the country.

Eight Shortlisted Candidates to Compete
Eight candidates, drawn from different public sector undertakings, have been shortlisted for the interview stage. These candidates meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by PESB, which typically includes extensive experience in management, finance, and operations within government-owned enterprises.
The final selection will be based on the interview performance, evaluating leadership, vision, and ability to drive growth for the PSU.
