Mr. Sushil Sharma will soon assume charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, after his name was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel. Mr. Sharma had been serving as the Director (projects) of SJVN since August 1, 2020. Before this, Mr. Sharma served as General Manager (Mechanical) in SJVN at the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Plant and as Director (Electrical) of SJVN.
The PESB panel selected Mr. Sharma from a pool of nine candidates comprising two candidates from SJVN Limited, two from Indian Railways and one each from NHPC Limited, BSNL, Power Grid, GAIL (India) Limited and Patel Engineering Ltd. Mr. Sharma made the cut owing to his three-decade-long rich and varied experience of working in various organisations including SJVN.
He has a B.E. (Mechanical) Degree from VNIT, Nagpur, and started service in H.P. State Technical Education Service in 1990. He joined SJVN in January 1994 as an Assistant Engineer and toiled hard in various departments before rising to the level of General Manager (Mechanical).
