RITES Secures $2.9 Million International Contract from Guyana’s Ministry of Public Works for Road Project Supervision – Details Inside

New Delhi: RITES Limited, a leading government-owned engineering consultancy and project management firm, has secured a notable international contract from the Ministry of Public Works of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana. The assignment involves construction supervision for the East Bank–East Coast Road Project Phase 2 (Eccles to Providence).

In a regulatory filing to stock exchanges on Tuesday, the company disclosed that the total contract is valued at approximately USD 2.9 million (excluding taxes), which is equivalent to around ₹24.82 crore.

Project Timeline and Scope
As per the disclosure, the scope of work includes 18 months of construction supervision, followed by a 12-month defects liability period. In addition to the new phase, the assignment also covers additional work under an existing contract, enhancing the depth of RITES’ ongoing engagement in Guyana’s infrastructure development.

Strengthening RITES’ Global Portfolio
The Guyana project adds to RITES’ growing list of international consultancy assignments, reinforcing its position as a trusted advisor for large-scale infrastructure projects globally.

“This international project marks a significant step in our global outreach strategy and validates our competence in managing complex civil infrastructure assignments,” the company said in a statement.

Independent Transaction with No Related Party Involvement
RITES confirmed that no promoter or group company has any shareholding or interest in the awarding entity. The transaction also does not qualify as a related party transaction, thereby ensuring that the agreement is conducted on an arm’s length basis in compliance with corporate governance norms.

Background: RITES’ Global Footprint
Headquartered in Gurugram, RITES has been expanding its footprint in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia, providing consultancy services in transportation infrastructure, energy, and urban development. This new contract aligns with India’s broader diplomatic and economic engagement with the Caribbean and Latin American region.
