Gurugram: Haryana Chief Principal Secretary (CPS) to the Chief Minister, Rajesh Khullar (1988 batch, Haryana Cadre) has intensified civic reviews in Gurugram. Over the past five days, he has been inspecting roads and infrastructure while directing officials to resolve long-pending civic concerns.
Road Encroachment and Traffic Flow
During his inspection of Rajiv Chowk, Farukhnagar–Basai Road, and Dhankaut Road, Khullar ordered authorities to clear encroachments, strengthen berms, and improve traffic movement. Stressing accountability, he told officers, “The public should feel the difference after your posting here.”
Drainage and Waterlogging Measures
In a high-level review meeting with GMDA, MCG, HSVP, police, and district administration, Khullar focused on issues such as waterlogging, garbage disposal, stray cattle, and road infrastructure. GMDA officials informed him that a detailed drainage plan had been executed to address 12 major waterlogging points, including Narsinghpur, Rajiv Chowk, Khandsa Chowk, Umang Bhardwaj Chowk, and the Ambience Mall area. Stormwater drain construction is also underway.
Stray Cattle and Civic Cleanliness
Expressing concern over accidents caused by stray cattle, Khullar ordered officials to establish a mechanism to make Gurugram’s roads cattle-free. He also instructed civic agencies to remove garbage and construction debris from roadsides. Warning officials against laxity, he remarked that heaps of waste create a “filthy picture” of the city.
Health Infrastructure Progress
Khullar also reviewed the progress of the ₹550 crore Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College and Hospital at Kherki Majra. The project includes teaching blocks, hostels, a nursing college, and a trauma centre. It is expected to be completed and handed over to the Health Department by year-end.
